Merry Christmas Bébé!

I only had to look…into my daughter’s eyes…to know that her mind and complete focus was on you dear one. You were with us…every step of the way.

It all started in a little church in Iona. Father Bob welcomed everyone as is his custom on Christmas Eve. The seats were all taken…except for the very front row. I ushered A and S up to the front as the rest of us were already seated. So, proudly up the middle isle they marched to take their seats. And what a perfect place for them …to hear the homily… about a BABY. Realizing that of course Father Bob was speaking of another BABY from long, long ago, he spoke of a BABY who devoted his life…so we could live. Listening intently to this, it took on another meaning. How does a little BABY have such a profound effect on our lives? How does a BABY have the power to make us melt at the mere sight of him/her? It went on and on. The homily was written for you little one….and we were listening.

Christmas dinner started, and we raised a glass to toast the blessings of the season, and to put closure on the year before, everyone mindful of their own individual blessings. Gifts were exchanged, but there wasn’t another gift in the room that could surpass the gift…of YOU.

We anxiously await your arrival dear one…and I am enjoying the journey, every step of the way.

Merry First Christmas Bébé…from Nanny.
