A ray of sunshine appeared brighter,
Accompanied by her smile and laughter.
Rainbows paled in comparison
To the bright array of colors in her life.
She bowed her head in humility,
And asked what she had ever done
To deserve the love and recognition.
I still have the flowered shirt she wore.
I imagine I can still smell her soft scent.
Of all her belongings…I kept her shirt.
She loved it because it had happy colors.
She loved her late night snacks;
And most of all her numerous visitors.
Her needs and wants became very simple.
In the end it was so very easy,
To be in her company and to love her.
